I just posted a blog about the weight loss possibilities of eating a big breakfast. Will the results highlighted in the study cause you to change your breakfast routine?

How important do you think breakfast is? What did you eat for breakfast? What did your kids eat for breakfast?

Let's find out............

I agree with the majority of calories in the morning also! I proscribe to eating like a king at breakfast, a prince at lunch and a pauper at dinner and many times I eat protein and fruit smoothies for dinner to keep it light!

Just to throw another variable into the mix, there is also a suggestion that eating a little before bed is actually a good idea because your body is in it's resting state during sleep, but the center of activity is digestion at that time. So many possibilities!

I love, love breakfast and MUST have it or else I succumb to all kinds of sugar cravings. This morning I made protein pancakes (egg whites, oatmeal, whey protein or cottage cheese, cinammon) w/sugar free syrup. -YUM!!

I have always been a breakfast person. Of course, until I started losing weight, my breakfasts weren't exactly the healthiest. :) During and since my weight loss, my usual breakfast is a serving of quick oatmeal (1 minute, not the instant in the bags), with either a splash of no fat milk or a tablespoon of no sugar added applesauce. I also include a piece of fruit, a cup of no fat milk and sometimes either an egg or a slice of canadian bacon. Oh, and coffee. Black coffee, preferably hazelnut. Don't mess with my coffee.

For the last week or so, I've been experimenting with different breakfasts without the oatmeal. I'm trying to lower my carb intake a little while also pushing against the traditional idea of "breakfast food" a little bit. I'm finding that that is a big cultural wall to be pushing against!

Breakfast is my all time favorite meal! It usually is eggs and some type of veggies! Without my eggs, I can't get through my day! ;0)

I'll echoe my comments from the original blog post. I'm a big supporter of the breakfast. I've always had my bagel and coffed, but lately have changed and/or mixed in some low-fat oatmeal.
I share 'Skinny Guy''s affinity for coffee.
Can't mess with that vice!

For the last two years I've given up coffee for Lent. It wasn't as difficult this year, but I did drink green tea in its stead. It's most definitely not the same, but I did enjoy it.

I drink iced green tea by the pitcher all day long! It is a great healthy addition to my day, but I start every morning with a cup of hot coffee and then later in the morning I have an iced coffee with stevia and a spash of milk.

no doubt!! coffee is just an unspoken necessity!

I ate (drank) the same thing I eat every morning; my "Green" smoothie.

1 large banana
2 handfuls of raw baby spinach
Some collard greens
A piece of celery
Goji berries
Water

I drink this smoothie at least once per day. It is very nutritious and very delicious.

The ingredients vary, but it usually includes a base of banana, spinach, and water... plus whatever else I have in the refrigerator.

Have a great day. :)
