McDonald's and The Food Network using Subliminal Advertising?

Apparently, this is a true story. What do you think of subliminal advertising?

Well, subliminal or not, on purpose or not... do you really think that blip would encourage someone or influence someone to go to McDonalds?
I mean maybe it could sway a decision on WHICH fast food restaurant to visit, but I have my doubts if that blip, or for arguement's sake any full commercial, would move me to want, or crave McDonald's food.
Good food for thought though (no pun intended... or maybe I did intend it?)

Although, I agree with you about this small blip, I disagree that a full advertisement won't entice people to go to McDonald's. McDonald's, along with so many other companies, have gained their name via advertisements and sponsorship.

As an child who has watched Saturday morning TV, and then gone to the grocery store later in the day, only to bug their mother to buy the latest sugar ladened breakfast cereal. It happens everyday..................:)

What do I think of subliminal advertising? I think it stinks! Also, I thought it was illegal. Isn't it? It should be if it's not.

This is how you feel when you find your destiny. Not what they want us to believe.

Well, this is how I feel and it has nothing to do with the c word and everything to do with Iowa Avenue.

I agree. This is how I feel every morning when I wake up to find new activity, a new member, or a new great discussion going on, Ode To Joy (finale) - Symphony No.9 - Ludwig van Beethoven

What a great video. I can't dance! I'm jealous although I can express my originality in other ways.

I think that chemically processed foods are addictive in nature and that if you consume these products then you might be susecptable to this type of advertising. I am personally against subliminal advertising and think that it is just contributing to a society that already has an unhealthy relationship with food and this just creates an unhealthy advertising environment. It reminds me of the brainwashing movie with the government what is it called???!!!.....I saw the original but they did a re-make....anyway, you get the drift. Great topic!

I agree with a few of the comments. This seems like this would be illegal and would not make it past the Contact Center. I don't think this is going to make it to a Superbowl Ticket commercial either.
