Eight Weeks of Plateau Hell and Counting! Please Help?!

Hi there, I haven't been around in a while as I have been so busy getting ready to move (from Indonesia) to the UK with my wife, son and mother-in-law.

So I have been pouting a lot as I have been going through a fat loss dry spell, I have been yo-yoing from 245 - 249lbs over the last 8 (or maybe 9) weeks.

I have been changing my workouts enough, giving myself plenty of variations, and I have been behaving myself with following a balanced nutritional program, but no joy yet.

I have a lot on at the moment (moving, long visa procedures, trying to finish a degree, preparing to open a business, money, money money matters, my hip problem, etc!!) so it could just be because of stress. I am not giving up.....keep on going, eventually it'll break.

If you have any experiences or advice on weight loss plateaus please share them with me, thanks all!

Hope you are all well!

Take care,
Andrew

Are you exercising? How much water are you drinking? How many grams of Carbohydrate are you consuming? You may want to cut back on carbs, especially if it's higher than 45% of calories.
Also, I would suggest trying medifast for 1 month but it is not cost effective for those who live outside the United States.

Good Luck,

Hi ATD,

Yeah I am strength training three times a week (Mon, Wed & Fri) changing my workouts and intensities every 2 -3 weeks, my workouts go for 45 to 60 min a session. I am also swimming 3 times per week (Tue, Thu & Sat) also for 45min a session.

I am drinking about 3.5 to 4 liters of water per day. I 'm keeping my carb intake below 50g per day (usually about 30 - 40g per day).

Thanks,
Andrew ;-)

That's what I thought--@ 28 weeks sounds like it may be a tough choice for women to "break" the cycle, though. Thanks for posting this very important information which, I'm sure, will benefit women for something to be aware of.

yes, of course, we don't know what causes gestational diabetes, but we have some clues. The placenta supports the baby as it grows. Hormones from the placenta help the baby develop. But these hormones also block the action of the mother's insulin in…

Interesting. Isn't it fairly typical for most pregnant women to gain weight anyway though?
