"So I have to work on something else." As she says, she needs to switch directions and find something that works for her. It's so hard to lose weight, but the hardest part is maintaining it over the long term. She's a case in point.

So, it's time to push the wagon off herself and get moving again.

I could really go on a MAJOR rant here about Oprah, especially on her "never-ending" diet and weight issues, but I won't.

i saw her big body on tv i would like to reccomend her HERBALIFE.the easyiest fastest 100% guaranteed safe and effective but will she pay attention for she has a lot of money to buy weightlost machine?naaaaaaaaa i dont think so.just have alook www.startherbalife.com and see others great body without expensive machine,and weightloss clinics.

I feel for her! I've gained and lost 70+lbs twice. I still feel the "shame" she speaks of even though I'm no longer over weight. Shame was the first and most intense feeling I had when I stepped on the scale one day and saw that I'd reached a higher weight than I was the first time I lost it.

One quote in the article really struck me - "By 1996 she said her roller-coaster weight saga was over."

For me personally, I can't ever let myself think the saga is over. Tried that. It didn't work. The saga is never over even when we reach our goal weight. I have to make a conscious effort every single day to maintain my weight and do the things I need to do to be healthy. While living this way certainly does come more natural for me at this point, even after nearly 3 years, there are still times when I catch myself doing things that could derail me. Mindless eating is one. I did it last night. 4 slices of pizza. oops! I was starving, got home and there was the pizza box sitting on the table (no way do I order pizza when I'm starving LOL!) I was so hungry and tired that I just kept eating without thinking about what I was doing.

I'd like to think that healthy habits become ingrained - as if there were some switch that turns off the bad habits. I'm starting to think there isn't one for some of us. I've gotta wake up every day and turn the healthy habits light on. Stuff I do, like not eating for 5 hours, turns that switch off!

I say "take it one step at a time". I can only imagine how painful it must be to have your weight struggle up for public discussion. Weight control is such a personal issue, frequently tied to issues that go deeper than simply making the right choices or making exercise a priority. I say she's lost it once (or more than once) she can do it again!

I would like to tell Oprah to stop being such a spoiled brat, order the Total Gym and go for it! She can call Chuck Norris to get set up. She needs to do some push aways - PUSH AWAY FROM THE TABLE!

On my blog Back in Skinny Jeans, I addressed this January O issue with "What if you wer Oprah's best friend?" I admire and respect Oprah but someone needs to get a little tough love with her on this subject.

My advice would be to keep a food diary.

I know you don't have time to write everything down. So, sign up at Jott and every time you eat, call 1-866-568-8123 and leave me a message of what you just ate and how you were feeling. I'll receive an email via voice transcription. I'll email you back

She gets too cocky when she does something, the superlative attitude. We all should be humble as human beings and know that we do whatever we do one day at a time, and it's an ongoing process. I've been doing Take Shape For Life (a division of Medifast) http://anewu4ever.tsfl.com and lost weight beautifully, safe, quick and never missed anything that put the weight on to begin with. So, when I have a goal and focus with it, and stick to the program which is well-balanced ~~~ it's loaded with vitamins and minerals, so that's one extra thing I don't have to worry about. I AM however an emotional eater, so from time to time, I fall off the program, because of stressful situations, so I've gained a little back. (which I didn't think could happen again) but situations change, stress levels change, moods change, etc. I didn't gain all of it back though, and not 40 pounds! That's when if you start feeling a little uncomfortable, you get on the scale. But I'm not judgmental of her either. What I learned on Take Shape for Life is to eat like THIN people eat, and to start behaving like them, which is a new behavior to learn. So I get on the scale, and when I see I'm up, NO MORE THAN 10 POUNDS, I get back into reality. Moderation is the key, but the problem is, once us "former" carb lovers taste just one bite, it's almost over!! So my advice is, be humble!

To take care of your health, hire some holistic nutritionists to keep you on track. You have the money, so you have no excuse not to take the very best care of yourself. It is sad to think of all the poor people who can only afford crappy food and have their excess weight and poor health to show for it, while you sit on a mountain of money with the same excess weight and poor health. It is a shame and an abuse of your position.
