Joe, great blog. Haven't read thru all the posts yet, but will start from the beginning to see where you began. :) I live in the Lansing area. Which law school do you attend?

How is the training journal working for you? Is it motivational for you?

Keep up the good work, and thanks for sharing your life with us.

6 More Pounds This Week!

I jumped on the scale today and it read 248 pounds which means I lost 6 pounds this week. Whats more amazing is that I have lost 20 lbs in 3 weeks since I have made a minor change in my diet. Since I have started my diet I have now lost 45 pounds overall. Its funny that a month ago I was frustrated as all hell because I was struggling trying to lose weight, but now my confidence is at an all time high. I actually have to go to the store today and buy a new belt because the ones I have are all to… Continue

I Lost 4 Pounds!

So I jumped on the scale today and it read 264 which means that I lost 4 pounds this week. I am excited to say the least considering I have not lost this much weight since the first few weeks I started my weight loss plan. The only change I had made this week was the type of carbs that I had included in my meals. Usually I would eat things like toast for breakfast, wheat bread with sandwhiches, and wheat pasta or brown rice with my dinner. This week I had oatmeal for breakfast with my eggs, gril… Continue

Only 1 pound but I'll take it!

I jumped on the scale yesterday and found out I lost 1 pound. Normally that wouldn't be so great, but considering the circumstances I'll take it. This last week included New Years Eve and I'll admit I had some pizza and a few beers watching the ball drop. Most people gain weight during the holidays so I feel good that I was able to lose a couple pounds. Alright I'm done tooting my own horn, its back to business now. I want January to be a big month so for the first time I'm going to put a concre… Continue

I Gained 2 Pounds!

Well theres a first time for everything and my weight loss goals are not immune to this. Today I jumped on the scale and it read 270 pounds which means I gain 2 pounds. I'm not too disappointed because realistically I weighed in a few days after Thanksgiving so it doesn't suprise me. I mean obviously when you come to this type of a situation you have two options. You can quit because your frustrated or you can keep going. So tonight I'll be in the gym plugging away . One step backward, two steps… Continue

Sometimes I Need to Slow Down

After working out three days in a row with weights my body feels like a train wreck so I decided to take the night off from the gym. I should feel a little bad about it but I'm reasoning with myself that if I take the night off I will come back tommorow stronger and fresh. I did a leg workout on tuesday and I must have did it right because they are still sore today. So tonight my plan is simple. I'm going to eat a really heal… Continue
