I totally agree. Yes, it is a terrible situation some people don't see. I don't want to sound pessimist but don't see the way to recovery. Unfortunately cheap labor moved overseas won't come back --as many people think. If the government don't fi...

Cheap labor is overseas and our dollar is collapsing. Since it's cheaper for companies to manufacture anything overseas, this trend will only continue, unfortunately. As far as hunger, that's totally unacceptable and people have to learn how to sh...

Ouch! I didn't know that. Take care of yourself eating healthy and getting the proper supplements. I have never thought Patric Swayze will die so young but aged and thin. He was strong and agile... so sad :(

Why We Love Dogs, Eat Pigs and Wear Cows

The publisher created a terrific promotional video with a reenactment of this scene:

New book by Melanie Joy, Ph.D.

The vast majority of Americans view eating meat as natural, normal and necessary while recognizing that vegetarianism is an ideology, or belief system. Thanks to Why We Love Dogs, Eat Pigs and Wear Cows by Melanie Joy, Ph.D. (published November, 2009 by Conari Press), the way we eat animals now has a name and is exposed to be every bit as much an ideolog… Continue

Jonathan Safran Foer on Thanksgiving

After talking with Ellen about his book, "Eating Animals," Jonathan Safran Foer answered questions from Ellen's audience. Watch as he explains why some foods are worse than others -- and what you're eating when you eat a Thanksgiving turkey.

PRAISE FOR EATING ANIMALS:

"For a hot young writer to train his sights on a subject as unpalatable as meat production and consumption takes raw nerve. What makes Eating Animals so unusual is vegetarian Foer's empathy for human mea… Continue

Didn't mean you cooked fish....The Missus eats vegetarian with fish, hence the fishetarian. That basically means she cooks a lot of tofu dishes and seitan and tempeh...and since she does dinner duty, that's what I eat. So I'm sure she'll love getting new ideas from your site (in the vegetarian route). Sometimes my Irish english doesn't come out right!
