Exercise is starting to happen for me - that tends to happen when you quit your job....

I may write a post about this on Almost Fit, but I just couldn't wait...Essentially I have started to exercise regularly. I say started meaning that I've been walking a few times a week for a couple of weeks now, and I can tell that it is getting under my skin. I am actually looking forward to it now, which is an awesome mental shift for me.

A few things have changed very dramatically in my life recently. Not the least of which is I've quit my job to pursue personal projects. AND, that means - Almost Fit is now a full time endeavor. That said, it is not yet providing anywhere near what I need to keep it up. However, I've put myself in a position to give it my full focus for a while, so that is what I'm doing. That said, I really, really appreciate any help I can get.

As part of my plan that I'm calling "Leaving Corporate America for Good", with fingers crossed I am requiring of myself some big things. The one that is most appropriate to Iowa Avenue is this: I realize that exercise, particularly starting my day with it, is absolutely necessary if I'm going to succeed at pursuing writing what I want to write full time. I am getting up early and walking to start, and that will turn into a walk-run routine soon. For me, exercise brings clarity. And with a project like this, I need all the clarity I can get.

At any rate, I owe a debt of thanks to everyone here - each one of the Iowa Avenue members that I know has proven to be a tremendous inspiration. I am now really putting my dedication to the test, and it is in part due to the good example of so many folks here.

Thank you, Iowa Avenue. Because, as Lisa loves to say, After all, its about a healthy lifestyle! :)

@ATD: Thanks! Aren't kittens a sign of good luck in...er....somewhere? :)

@Christine: Thanks to you too - And I'll take any force I can get, although the SWAT team may be the only exception. I'll stay uninvolved with them in any way shape or form. My thinking is, any time those folks show up, no matter who's side you're on, it's not a good thing. :)

And on exercise - YES, I agree - I think it does have that "side effect"!

This is great news, Metroknow. Congratulations.....................:)

I look forward to hearing how things are going, exercise wise and business wise. I know, it's a bold step to take, but one that will change your life.

"awesome mental shift" -- what sweet words you speak! That's what it's all about, shifting the way you think about food, exercise, yourself, your life and all things important. This is a really awesome disease you've contracted Metroknow! Good luck with your writing project.

Oh, I wish I could run a healthy restaurant or food store selling healthy prepared goodies... but it takes a lot of money and a lot of effort to compete with big ones! ................ :(

Good advise! Luckily, I haven't had any of those problems. I had a healthy veggie meal with Brazilian Nut Roast en Croûte I made from scratch with potatoes, carrots, and peas on the side... and I even made my own gravy from scratch... :) See pos...
